Barx’s Blurb, Rd9, 2019, Reserves Match Report.

31/07/2019

Reserves headed to Casey fields to take on Cranbourne who have been undefeated all year

We spoke pre game of accountability around stoppages and bringing effort and hardness to our game, as we needed competitive 4 qtr effort

Our first half was fantastic, the boys really wanted to make a statement with strong tackling and great first option ball use, it gave ourselves every chance heading into the main break with one straight kick in it.

The second half was a tight contest we kept Cranbourne scoreless in the 3rd qtr, however we gave away around 7-8 free kicks due to high tackles and even though we had most of the footy throughout the game at times some of our disposal did let us down not using first option in the second half and poor decision making in pressure situations, eventually losing the game by 9 points.

The effort and belief the Reserves group has currently is a credit, they play hard, work for each other and have developed and improved as the seasons progressed. Cranbourne certainly after the game over a beer said it was the toughest game they had all season.

With some results being tight in Southern Reserves we have now moved to 6th finals are still a chance however we are reliant on other results and us having a big win against Melbourne

Can I say “what will be will be”

let’s finish our season off in a positive way and do our absolute best that we can, if we bring the game we showed against Cranbourne we will go close, however as I have always said it’s entirely up to the group to prove it to each other through belief and desire to win

A massive thanks to Dynsey,Parksy & Grimmo for helping us out on the day
