Barx’s Blurb, Rd 5 2019. Reserves Match Report.

04/06/2019

The Reserves were off to Carrum for round 5 and were committed to come away with the points to finish our 4 in a row away game fixture

Our first qtr was positive and we held a moderate lead at qtr time, we spoke about better disposal into our forward line being needed and more effectively hitting up targets around the ground

At Halftime we again were ahead on the scoreboard, however we still allowed Carrum to be in the game, the boys needed to play first option footy by not getting caught with the ball, increase our talk at contests, staying disciplined and working hard to keep the ascendancy

Our second half was an improved effort across the board, the boys were listening to instruction and their talk and work rates around the ground were much improved from the first half, we ended up running out winners by a comfortable 5 goals.

It was great to see Newy & Drew out for their first games of the year, many thanks to guys who doubled up Razor, Andy, Matty J & Fluff.

With a lot more guys available next game, selection will get tighter, so lets all get to training and keep working hard on our game, it’s really important the Reserves  string a couple together to keep building confidence into the second half of the season, something definitely achievable with our group

Go Raiders!
