Barx’s Blurb, Reserves match report Rd 2, 2019.

28/04/2019

Round 2 the Reserves travelled up the Nepean Hwy to Highett to play Bayside Saints.

Unfortunately we lost CMac in the warm up and from there our day was pretty ordinary across the board.

Bayside came to play and they played their home ground well with good spread and smart plays to advantage.

We struggled to play man on man football when required, our talk was minimal around the ground all day and guys weren’t using their first options smartly and were getting caught holding the ball regularly or making poor second option decisions costing us too many turnovers.

Kenny & Bramma were great around the ground all day with Marty & Tommy also working hard to the final siren.

Juice was fantastic in the Ruck  from the first ball up, dominating all the hit outs, his fist pumping gesture after kicking a goal in the last quarter when we were 9 goals down was something  to behold and certainly got him into the vote cards.

We need to put today behind us, however we have a bit to improve on, considering we play again in 7 days.

The Reserves need to regroup quickly and start getting better at the basics by getting to training and working on some of our deficiencies and putting this into our efforts on game day, and if we do I’m sure we can turn the tables against Waverley in a weeks time.

Cheers Barx
