Rd 2 Supers v Bayside.
Well another big day for the Supers boys with 4 more new players who ran out for the first time.
This took us to 13 overall new players in the first 2 weeks! Wowee!
Heading up the road to highett to play bayside, we had a steady start throughout the first half with everyone still getting a bit of feel for things and trying to gel together. I could tell that we weren’t far away from blowing the game open. Just needed to get a little cleaner with that first touch football to get the ball to the outside to use our run and spread and skills.
And that’s just what happened in the third quarter , the first 10 minutes of that quarter was some fantastic football , and we continued on with a great second half , and ran out comfortable winners in the end by just over 8 goals.
2-0 to start the year which is fantasti.
Some Notable mentions, I thought Keegs was huge once again! And top it off with 3 goals , all whilst being pretty crook for a few days leading up was a massive achievement.
I thought our backline was really solid all day lead by Jake and Matty J and Jimmy, well done to everyone who went through there.
I thought up forward things started to click with Jacky J and Hadley finding some form across half forward, Hadley with a couple of snags. And through the middle I thought Snowy had a great game , and new recruit Trav Reints sparked things for us when he went into the middle at the start of the third term , and Richo and Wilkes ran riot on the wings all day.
Good to see some new guys get some miles under the belt and will be better for the run .
Everyone played their role , everyone used the rotations to help us run the game out , and that’s what team footy and unselfishness and discipline is all about ]!
Another Great all round performance and bring on round 3 , short turnaround backing up this weekend ! See you Wednesday at training .
